Lifeway Bible Church, Waterbury, VT
This two year old mission recently lost their church planter. The small
core group of 6-8 desperately needs a visionary leader to come take over
this struggling mission before it dissolves. It is currently led by a
lay couple who work for the GMBA. They are meeting in the basement of
the local Grange, which is a very nice space to meet. They have this space
for free for several more months before they have to begin paying for
it. Waterbury is an affluent town in the crossroads of Vermont's tourist
area. There is one other evangelical church in town and then up the road
near Stowe there are three other evangelical works, one of which is also
in the GMBA. There is very limited financial support from the local congregation,
there is a small amount of support from a partnership association in North
Carolina and if the pastoral candidate is qualified he can receive $1200
per month for up to two years from the North American Mission Board.

Faith
Community Church, Barre, VT
This three year old church plant is already busy planting other churches
in nearby towns. Averaging 100 in Sunday worship this church looks for
young men who desire to plant a church in Vermont and invites them to
come serve at their congregation for 12-24 months in an associate pastor
role. They then spin that man off as a church plant to some community
that needs a church. They commit 3% of their budget to help the new church
get started. The candidate will need to raise his own salary, but the
church assists with how to do this. The candidate normally serves in a
bivocational situation so that he can meet people and learn to interact
with Vermonters before trying to start a church for Vermonters. Some candidates
will be eligible for $1200 per month in support from the North American
Mission Board. Contact Terry Dorsett at terrydorsett@charter.net for more details.
