2010 Palm Sunday Hymn Sing

Over 120 people from at least seven GMBA churches gathered at the Faith Community Church in Barre, VT for the 2010 Palm Sunday Hymn Sing. Choirs, soloists and several trios sang songs revolving around the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. Interspersed between the musical selections, pastors and elders from various churches read appropriate scriptures. One attendee said, "When Don Sweeter read the scripture, I felt like I was right there in Jerusalem watching it all happen." Sweetser is a deacon at the Baptist Fellowship in Randolph. In addition to the powerful music and scripture readings, three new believers were baptized by pastors and elders from the various churches. While all the baptisms were moving, when Ray Amnot, elder from Newbury Bible Church, baptized his grandson Robert, marking four generations of faithful followers of Jesus, there was not a dry eye in the room. Shouts of hallelujah spontaneously arose from the worshippers who were witnessing such a moving event. Amnot prayed, "Lord, one day, make these four generations into five, may they all walk in obedience to You."
