Bill Alexson Speaks in Vermont

Bill Alexson spoke in Vermont on October 11, 2009 to a group of over 120 teens and their adult sponsors at the monthly youth rally at Faith Community Church in Barre. Bill was the chaplain for the Boston Celtics for over 20 years and is the person who led NBA giant Larry Byrd to the Lord. Bill now travels around the world with both former and current NBA players doing exhibition games and sharing testimonies of how Christ changed the lives of professional basketball players. Bill said "Dozens of famous NBA players have realized that Christ can give them what fame and money never can." The youth rally featured prayers and interviews with student athletes from various high schools. Ryan Robbins, who is on the Montpelier football team, said in his interview, "It is really hard to keep your faith when you are the only Christian on your football team. But I just pray and ask God to help me be strong." Music was provided by the Change of Heart praise team made up of teens from Faith Community Church who have come to Christ through their growing youth ministry. Twenty teens also participated in giving "cardboard testimonies" of how Christ had changed their lives. At least 8 teens professed faith in Christ after the event.
