Blessing of the Bikes in Barre

Two years ago GMBA Director Terry Dorsett became friends with some Harley riders. Though not a rider himself, Dorsett's friendship led to him being invited to give a blessing of the bikes at a large biker rally in Williamstown VT for the past two summers. Realizing that an entire people group was being missed by most churches, Dorsett decided to hold a similar blessing at the Faith Community Church in Barre on the first Sunday of June. About twenty bikers participated. Most of them arrived early and attended church with Dorsett and his congregation. During the service, Starr Bryce, a member of the Baptist Fellowship of Randolph, shared her faith and encouraged the bikers to wear Christian colors and ride as a testimony for Christ. Plans are being made for a bigger and better celebration next year.
