Brian Conyers Ordained to the Gospel Ministry

On January 17, 2010 pastors and lay people gathered from churches across Central Vermont to ordain Brian Conyers to the Gospel ministry. Conyers, a Virginia native, went to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Allison moved to Vermont last year to serve as a church planting intern at Faith Community Church of Barre. In April 2010 they will begin a new work in Waterbury, VT. Jim Herod, pastor of Washington Baptist Church, gave the ordination prayer. Gary Shugart, elder at Grace Baptist Church, Wake Forest, NC preached the charge to the candidate. The congregation sang three of Conyers favorite songs. The candidate gave a testimony of his call to ministry. Pastors, elders and deacons from around the area laid hands on Conyers to ordain him to the ministry. "Brian is one of those rare treasures that churches love to find to serve as pastor," said Terry Dorsett, Director of Missions for the Green Mountain Baptist Association when he explained the process of ordination to the congregation and recommended they proceed with the ordination service.
