Bruce James Speaks to GMBA Men

On the first Saturday of February the Faith Community Church of Barre hosted an area wide Men's Breakfast. Men from three GMBA churches participated. The men from the Barre church cooked a meal of ham, eggs and pancakes. Bruce James was the guest speaker. Bruce is the Director of Evangelism and Men's Leadership Development for the Baptist Convention of New England. He has also been a pastor in Connecticut. Bruce spoke about the importance of vibrant and intense prayer in the lives of men. "Prayer is great because we pray to a God who answers prayer," said James as he spoke from Luke 11:2-4. Bruce went on to explain that "prayer is not about convincing God to do something, it is about convincing us to follow what God is already doing." The men also discussed a mission trip to Springfield VT later in the month to help paint their new church building and also a trip to West Virginia in the summer to work on a parsonage.
