Central Vermont Churches Reach Out to Soldiers

Six churches from Central Vermont gathered on a Sunday night in January to share a meal with the soldiers and their families who were being deployed to Afghanistan as part of President Obama’s increased efforts to stop the insurgency in that mountainous nation. It is the largest deployment in Vermont National Guard history and almost every church has someone who is being deployed. The group heard a challenging testimony from Brian Moore, a member of the Washington Baptist Church, who was severely injured in the Iraq war but experienced miraculous protection and healing through prayer. The group spent time praying for the soldiers and their families. Pray for these men as they defend freedom for the next year.
