Faith Community Church Celebrates Graduations

Faith Community Church of Barre, Vermont is known for it's large youth group. With over 180 teenagers enrolled in the program and with 55-65 teens taking part on a weekly basis, it is the largest youth group in Central Vermont, some say in the entire state. With such a large youth group, the church made the graduation season quite the celebration. Thirteen students involved in the church graduated from area high schools. The church honored the students on the second Sunday in June during the morning worship service. The church presented each student with a Bible and also held a dinner for their families after church. Dr. Terry Dorsett, pastor, participated in the baccalaureate service held later that day by Spaulding High School. A number of students from the youth group won awards, scholarships and were recognized for various accomplishments at the various graduation ceremonies held around Central Vermont. Dr. Dorsett said, "It was touching to look at the various graduation programs and see students from our church giving speeches, receiving awards and demonstrating the leadership that makes the Lord proud." Dr. Dorsett's own son, Taylor Dorsett, graduated from Spaulding and will be attending Anderson University in Anderson, SC in the fall.
