Green Mountain Baptist Association Director Receives Church Planting Award

The last week of July the North American Mission Board (SBC) awarded Terry Dorsett, GMBA Director, the Dennis Hampton Rural Church Planting award. This annual award it used to demonstrate leaders who have shown high quality leadership in the area of rural church planting. In the eight years that Dorsett has been leading the Green Mountain Baptist Association, the association has grown from 17 to 37 churches. Vermont has been identified by the US Census Bureau as the most rural state in America, based on the number of people who live in a rural area. Vermont is also the least religious state in the nation, making Vermont a unique cultural situation. Dorsett and his wife were flown down to Atlanta to receive the award.
