Montpelier Church Participates in Parade

On July 3, 2010 the Resurrection Baptist Church of Montpelier participated in the Independence Day parade down State Street and past the Vermont state capitol. The parade is known for it's progressive floats and somewhat off-beat performances. Many people do not consider it very patriotic. This is the first time that RBC has taken part in the parade. The church's float included Betsy Ross (Mrs. Lahoma Loar) sewing the American flag. Church members walked beside the float passing out candy to onlookers. The church is currently experiencing a growth spurt under the innovative leadership of their new pastor, Rick Kesterton.
