Montpelier Church Celebrates
Martin Luther King Day By Serving Teachers

On the Martin Luther King holiday, January 18, members of Resurrection Baptist Church braved the snow to take baskets of fruit, muffins, cupcakes, sweet rolls, gingerbread, brownies and other goodies to the teachers at the Elementary, Middle and High Schools of Montpelier. Though the students had the holiday off, the teachers had an In Service Day. The church members wanted to encourage the teachers and to express appreciation to them for the work they do with the children of the community. "We were able to meet many of the teachers and the principals in each school. They were very surprised that anyone would think of them on a holiday," says Melissa Kesterson, the wife of Pastor Rick. The members of Resurrection Baptist Church hope to create an ongoing relationship with the teachers. Pray for the teachers as they strive to help educate the children of the community.
