Resurrection Baptist Church Helps Green Up Montpelier

Across Vermont the first Saturday of May is known as Green Up Day. Volunteers in every community gather to help clean up the debris that gathered along the roadsides during the winter and also plant flowers and do other projects to spruce up the community. In May 2010 the members of Resurrection Baptist Church in Montpelier joined with dozens of others volunteers to give a Spring cleaning to the capital city. RBC's specific job was to put a fresh coat of polyurethane on all the park benches around town. They covered over two dozen benches and shared the love of Jesus as they did it. One church member shared this humorous story, "There was a homeless man sitting on the first bench we were supposed to work on. He got up and moved to the next bench so we could work. Basically, he did that all day, moving from bench to bench as we worked. It gave us many opportunities to pray for him as the day went by."
