State's Second Largest VBS Held at Missionary's Home

vbs 2007.bmp

In the summer of 2004 three families gathered around a kitchen table to study the Bible. Terry and Kay Dorsett hosted that small group in their home for several months before they began meeting on Sunday mornings in a motel conference room. For the past three years the group has continued to hold a Vacation Bible School at the Dorsett home because the church did not have a permanent meeting place. To everyone's amazement, this year the VBS enrolled a total of 96 people. This is the second largest VBS on record for Southern Baptist churches in Vermont during the 2007 summer season. Everyone was amazed at how many children came, but they were even more amazed at how well the children listened and learned in such a non-traditional setting. The Dorsetts, who have been missionaries to Vermont for nearly 14 years said "We have always said that our home belongs to God, and we guess God took us at our word and He used every inch for VBS this year!"

Terry, We are so thrilled to see the growth in your children. We remember when Katie was barely big enough for VBS herself and now she teaches the kids herself. We love you all. Janie
